In two days, we travelled around the Island dropping in on tourist attractions.
It was immediately clear that there was an abundance of places of interest that were not effectively
promoted or presented well. Transport available to tourists was very poor and at present, hiring a
rental car was the only way to get about effectively.
Marketing and investment is needed to lift the tourism here and neither are high cost items if done
in a smart way.
Signage was either very poor or even non-existent except for the better resorts. Some notable
features that would attract tourist interest remain un-promoted. There is for example a geothermal
area in a volcanic lava field that is unknown.
We stayed in a resort with a beach that equals anything I have seen world-wide. The business
managing this resource was unable to either promote the business or service the clients effectively
yet the natural surroundings were outstanding.
Savaii is a proud Island paradise with huge potential needing some clever assistance to lift its profile and this can be done to benefit the friendly people and display its beauty without exploitation.
The SWAP foundation is well positioned to effectively provide this lift in a culturally sensitive
manner.
All in all an amazing experience!

Hi!
Is there any chance of Carl giving us contact details and/or some more info about the place he stayed at on Savaii please.
Many thanks
Dana
