The Prime Minister of Samoa has this week accepted our invitation to be the Patron of the SWAP Foundation. Yay!

This is a lovely gesture of support to all the Palagi (and Samoans) who believe in the goals of SWAP.
Support from the top means a lot in any culture but in Samoa it is especially important. Both the current administration here and the Samoan culture historically lean strongly in the direction that “the boss-man says, and that’s it!” so this is a very welcome gesture of support and is much appreciated by all of us.
For the record, the Aims of the SWAP Foundation as stated in our Trust Deed are:
- To educate, inform, teach and mentor Samoan entrepreneurs and business people on:
- Internet Marketing
- Brand & product development
- Good ICT practice
- To train, educate and mentor Samoan entrepreneurs and business people to encourage foreign investment into Samoan tourism and tourism infrastructure.
- To encourage, support, promote and facilitate cross-cultural exchange and cross-cultural educatiobn between indigenous Samoan and foreign cultures.
After that we’ll save the world have a cup of Cocoa Samoa!
Seriously, the team is stoked to have support from the big man and we’ll be keeping him well informed of what we’re up to so that he can be proud of his Patronage.
Thank you Tuila’epa Sailele Malielegaoi or more accurately Tuilaepa Lupesoliai Neioti Aiono Sailele Malielegaoi!
