I have recently secured a kick arse position in Samoa where I will be in charge of shooting, directing and editing a DVD about tourism (the sights smiles and feel ) of Samoa and juxtaposing the effects of the Tsunami.
I will also be producing You Tube Webisodes on my adventures and maybe doing these incoherent and metaphysical blogs on my Face Book page.
So the countdown has begun, I have sussed a few loose ends, applying for my passport tomorrow, explained to my parents and my friends and my Baby Mumma.
I will miss my lil’ boy. But all is well as I explained to him the other day as we were chilling in Morningside. Let me retell this moment for you.
Bustop, Morningside, day
[Daddy and Jackson chillin' at the bus stop. Jackson is consuming a bag of jet planes and drinking a juice. Jackson is making flying sounds with the jet planes and crash landing them in his mouth with a look of glee that can only come from a cantankerous and shiney happy lil' boy as mine. Daddy sits there with a pensive look on his face]
DADDY
Hey Jackson, you know daddy works in the film and TV industry?
JACKSON
[munching away on a jet plane] yes!
DADDY
You know I love you very much eh?
JACKSON
I like the green ones [pointing at masticated jet plane]. Yes I do!
DADDY
Soon I am going away for a little bit to an island where I will be working for a while, I will send you lots of presents and try and call you and talk to you on the Internet as much as possible
JACKSON
OK, Dad!
DADDY
You know that I am not going away forever and I’m always here for you and always think about you and I love you VERY VERY MUCH. I will be back soon as! Are you ok with that?
JACKSON
[pause]. It’s OK Daddy. I love you very much too!
[Jackson gets up and gives Daddy a huge hug and kiss. Daddy gets tears in his eyes!]

I think at the moment it’s my only worry? My son. I mean I have seen him every single weekend since he was born, I’m not worried for me, I’m worried for him.
But I will be fine and we are very tight so hopefully we will be.
